Kamika Ekadashi

Kamika Ekadashi

Kamika Ekadashi falls during the Krishna Paksha of the Ashadha month (or Shravana in some calendars).

Meaning and Significance

Kamika Ekadashi is unique because it falls in the holy month of Shravana (by some regional reckonings) and is said to grant the same merit as performing an Ashwamedha Yagna. It is the day to fulfill all desires and wash away the most difficult karmas.

Worship of the Lotus Feet

It is believed that worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day is equivalent to visiting all the holy places in the world. Special importance is given to offering Tulsi leaves to the Lord, which is said to provide protection from the messengers of Yama (Death).

Spiritual Benefits
