Aja Ekadashi
Aja Ekadashi is observed during the Krishna Paksha of the Shravana month (or Bhadrapada in some calendars).
Meaning and Significance
Aja Ekadashi is famous for its association with King Harishchandra, the symbol of truth. It is said that this fast is so powerful that it can restore lost kingdoms and reputations by erasing the most difficult karmic debts.
The Legend of Harishchandra
King Harishchandra lost his kingdom, his wife, and his son in his quest to uphold the truth. He was working as an assistant at a cremation ground when he met Sage Gautama.
