Parsva Parivartini Ekadashi falls during the Shukla Paksha of the Bhadrapada month. It is also known as Vamana Ekadashi or Jayanti Ekadashi.

Meaning and Significance

'Parsva Parivartini' means "changing sides." It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu, who is in Yoga Nidra, turns from his left side to his right side. This shift in cosmic energy is considered highly auspicious for making transitions in one's own life.

Vamana Avatar Connection

This day is also celebrated as the birth of the Vamana avatar (the dwarf priest). Vamana defeated King Bali by measuring the three worlds in three steps, restoring order to the universe.
