Yogini Ekadashi
Yogini Ekadashi is observed during the Krishna Paksha of the Jyeshtha month (or Ashadha in some calendars).
Meaning and Significance
Yogini Ekadashi is specially known for its power to cure ailments, especially skin-related diseases, and for forgiving the sins committed by neglecting one's duties or Guru.
The Legend
Hemamali, a gardener for King Kubera (the God of Wealth), neglected his duty of providing flowers for the King's Shiva Puja because he was distracted by his beautiful wife. Kubera cursed him with a terrible disease. Hemamali wandered until he met Sage Markandeya, who advised him to observe Yogini Ekadashi. He regained his health and original form.
