Margashirsha is the ninth month of the Hindu calendar. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says, "Among months, I am Margashirsha."

Margashirsha is a month of devotion and early morning prayers. It marks the beginning of the winter season and is considered highly pure.
