Chandra (The Moon)

Chandra is the lunar deity and one of the nine Navagrahas (planets) in Hindu astrology. He represents the mind, emotions, and the subconscious.

Significance

Chandra is associated with the element of water and rules over the sign of Cancer (Karka). He governs the mother, nourishment, and fertility. A strong moon in the horoscope indicates emotional stability and happiness.

Iconography

Chandra is often depicted as a beautiful youth holding a lotus and a club, riding a chariot pulled by ten white horses or an antelope. He wears a crescent moon on his head.
